You might want to abstain from social media for some time for your well being. Abstinence is not as hard as it looks, it doesn't mean you are totally separated from your device or connection to family and friends. You can easily place your demands through phone call or text.
There are several reasons why you might want to give up on social media for a brief moment. You might think you want peace of mind, you might think you need freedom from interference of people, you might feel you are now obsessed with your phone, social media detox will definitely help you.
The term social media detox has gained popularity as the time spent on the internet has significantly increased. Social Media Detox simply means the time when a person or an individual voluntarily refrains from using social media or digital activities. Experts have revised that the average human spend 11hrs on social media a day.
The following are signs you may need a Detox:
* You feel anxious or can maybe go crazy when you don't find your phone.
* You always have the urge to check your social media pages every minute.
* You feel intimidated, sad , angry after spending time on social media.
* You start comparing your lifestyle with other's.
*You basically live your life on social media.
If you have these signs or show trait of these signs you may need a social media detox.
How then do I engage in a social media detox?
Well, it's practically simple though a bit tasking. All you just have to do is follow some guidelines, which includes:
*Switching off all notifications from social media
*If you can't write, speak, to assist in effective thinking.
*Visit family and friends to ease away your worries and distract you from social media.
*Watch interesting and educative movies.
*Plan out strategically on what you intend to do.
*Make it work for you.
Following all these guidelines helps you clear your mind, gives you peace of mind, stable health and less addiction to social media.
