The protest started at about 9:30am. Taking off from Forte Oil filling station, Gate bus stop they stopped at Gowon police Station where a representative from the station addressed the aggrieved youths. They then proceeded to Iyana-Ipaja where a scene was staged.

Oderanti Gbemileke, a shoe maker, speaking with our reporter said " It is sad that in today's Nigeria you can't dress well as a youth, you will be labelled a fraudster. Attractive ladies who dress well are called harlots. We therefore see the need to come out in mass to express ourselves, make our pains known." He further pleaded with the Government to do something about this and stop playing the diplomacy card.

According to Olamide Kolawole, a student and graphic designer the protest is a peaceful one. Alimosho youths refuse to be silent about the killings of their own.
