My heart fails me,
My soul wanders,
Far Far away,
To an ever distant land.
I'm sad and confused,
I'm down and pained,
Reaching out slowly,
I wipe a tear away.
Is life so cruel?
Does Love exist?
Is there a hope,
For the pure in heart?
This world is full of evil and spite,
I've learnt this much by pain and strive,
A kind heart is easily taken for granted,
Kind acts misjudged as foolishness
Does this mean I should become,
As cunny and selfish as they are,
In other to survive,
In this jungle of a world
No, I will not!
I am but a symbol of hope,
My nature remains,
to show others the way.
In my depression I give Hope,
In my sorrows I give Joy,
In my weakness I give strength,
In my darkness I give Light.
Expectations are mounting,
You are excellent they say,
But little do they know,
these words are but handcuffs and chain.
With all my heart I whisper shout,
O Lord my God please hear my cry!,
I surrender to you!,
Please take the ride!.
